I can't imagine how hard that must be on a carer, and it's a good thing that there was more than one of you. Which leads me to believe that support for a carer is the most important thing there is. Good thing the Professional Carers Association exists eh?

I can speak as a fellow owner of the book - and it works like a bomb. I saw an immediate increase in the amount of traffic my site was receiving as soon as I started doing the daily exercises in the book to build it up. Blogging can be SO rewarding, both personally and financially if we give it a proper chance.

Thanks Andrea. I have been struggling. It seems as though I would need to commit a length of time to work on the blog and to try out all these new opportunities but I must say if I follow the 31day Problogger book, I can build on what I have learned the previous days.

Most care workers are covered to an extent by their employers but if their employers are private, through the personalisation route, they very often do not think about insurance. Also, some large employers do not cover their employers for legal costs if there are allegations against them which have to be investigated. I know of an association which will be providing this service at excellent rates visit www.professionalcarers.co.uk.

If I were a Carer, and I wanted some form of third party liability insurance - or whatever the UK equivalent is, how would I go about making sure I was 'covered' ?

This is very true …When I first came to UK to do live in care this was the case, it does affect you to the point that you don’t have any normal conversation. Your brain almost goes on hold. As the other carer said even when you go back to your friends or family, they have got on with their lives and you have somehow fallen off the boat?? !!A bit of HOPE… when you are able to stop live in work, it does get better, it takes time. Hang in there.
